Mementos from the sea
When I was a little boy my parents told me if I put a large sea shell to my ear I would hear the ocean’s roar. Now that my children are grown and on their own, I learned something exciting about shells I did recognize as a boy. When I took our own collection off the shelf and put them in my hand, I found they possess a special gift they gladly shared with me. Shells it seems remember the joy of their discovery and my children’s laughter too, from summers I had almost forgotten and vacations long – long ago.
